Terms & Conditions
Last updated:
These terms explain how DoorstepFix.my bookings, device repairs, pickup and delivery, and home services work. Please read them alongside your quotation and applicable warranty terms before confirming a booking.
We will make these terms available before you approve a service. Your written quotation or booking confirmation sets out the agreed work, price, and any service-specific conditions. If it differs from these general terms, the specifically agreed conditions apply, subject to applicable law.
1. Services & coverage
DoorstepFix provides and coordinates device repairs and home services through technicians and service professionals.
- Device repairs: smartphones, laptops, desktop PCs, tablets, and smartwatches, subject to model, fault, parts, and technician availability.
- Home services: renovation, cleaning, plumbing, electrical work, painting, air-conditioning services, carpentry, flooring, roof repairs, tree cutting, and grass cutting.
Our main service area is Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and the greater Klang Valley. Coverage and appointment availability depend on the service and exact location. Service outside this area must be confirmed before booking.
Your quotation or booking confirmation will identify the service provider and payment arrangements. Using a service partner does not remove any responsibility DoorstepFix has under your booking or applicable law.
2. Quotations & approval
Prices given from descriptions, photos, or online calculators are estimates unless confirmed as a final quotation. A device assessment or site inspection may be needed to confirm the scope and price.
- We explain the proposed work and price before proceeding. Approval may be recorded through WhatsApp, an accepted quotation, or another agreed method.
- Any inspection, diagnostic, call-out, delivery, or other separate charge must be disclosed and agreed before it is incurred.
- If additional faults or work are identified, we explain the revised scope, price, and timing and obtain approval before carrying out the extra work.
- You may decline additional work. Only previously agreed work and charges remain payable, subject to your legal rights.
3. Visits, pickup & delivery
On-site service is available where the work can reasonably and safely be completed at your location. Some devices require workshop assessment or repair.
Device collection and return may be arranged through Lalamove or another delivery partner. We confirm the address, collection arrangements, and any delivery charges before booking.
For common smartphone repairs in the Klang Valley, we aim for pickup, repair, and return within 1–3 hours. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed deadline. Complex faults, parts availability, traffic, weather, and appointment availability may affect completion. We will communicate material delays.
Please arrange for yourself or an authorised adult to hand over and receive the device or provide access to the property. Protect the device appropriately for transport and tell us about existing damage or a swollen battery before collection.
If a device is lost or damaged during a delivery arranged by us, contact DoorstepFix. We will investigate with the delivery partner and help resolve the matter. A courier claim process does not replace any rights you have against DoorstepFix.
4. Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact details, the service address, and a clear description of the problem.
- Confirm that you own the device or have permission to authorise repairs, or have authority to approve work at the property.
- Tell us about previous repairs, liquid exposure, existing faults, and relevant site hazards or access restrictions.
- Back up device data where possible before repair. Remove SIM cards, memory cards, and accessories unless needed for the agreed work.
- For home services, arrange reasonable access and any required owner or building-management permission. Tell us about working-hour restrictions, parking requirements, and access deposits before the visit.
- Keep children, pets, and valuables safely away from the work area.
If access is unavailable or the work cannot proceed safely, we will discuss rescheduling and any previously agreed charges before proceeding further.
5. Device repairs & replacement parts
Unless your quotation expressly states otherwise, replacement parts are aftermarket or compatible parts. Genuine manufacturer parts, where available, must be specifically identified and priced in your quotation. We will explain the selected part option before approval.
Repair results depend on the device’s condition. Liquid damage and motherboard faults may involve hidden or developing problems, and successful recovery cannot always be guaranteed. We will explain known material risks before you approve the work.
Do not assume the device retains its original water-resistance rating after opening or repair. Ask us what, if any, sealing or testing is included.
We will explain the work completed and the testing performed. Repair photos or videos can be shared through WhatsApp where practical. Completion photos or customer acceptance do not remove rights relating to defects discovered later.
6. Home services & project work
The accepted quotation defines the work included, materials or products to be supplied, price, payment stages, and estimated schedule. Site preparation, debris removal, disposal, reinstatement, and finishing work should be specified where relevant.
Hidden leaks, concealed wiring, structural defects, or other unexpected conditions may require a revised quotation. Additional work, including distribution-board or wiring changes, requires your approval before it is carried out.
Any necessary permits, management approvals, or specialist arrangements must be addressed before the relevant work begins. Work requiring particular qualifications or authorisations must be carried out by appropriately qualified or authorised personnel.
Weather, drying or curing time, materials, and site access may affect completion. We will discuss significant changes to the schedule. Please inspect completed work with the service provider and report any concerns so they can be assessed.
7. Payments & deposits
- Smartphone pickup repairs: repair payment is not collected at pickup. It is requested after the approved repair is completed and before return delivery.
- On-site device repairs: payment is due after the approved repair is completed and you have had an opportunity to check it.
- Home services and projects: any deposit, progress payment, and final-payment requirements must be set out in the accepted quotation. There is no single deposit percentage for every job.
- Unsuccessful smartphone repairs: we explain the result and arrange return. The one-way rider fee must be disclosed and agreed before collection. Any other assessment or attempted-repair charge must also be specifically agreed in advance.
We accept bank transfers. Pay only to the account confirmed through our official WhatsApp number, 011 6362 6459. If a technician or rider requests payment to a different account, verify the request with DoorstepFix before paying. Keep your quotation, invoice, and payment confirmation.
8. Warranty & aftercare
Our standard commercial warranty for screen replacements covers touch functionality for 30 days. Battery replacements carry a two-month warranty. These periods run from repair completion. Any expressly agreed additional coverage will be recorded in your quotation or invoice.
Other device repairs, home-service workmanship, and installed products have the coverage stated in the relevant quotation or warranty document. Manufacturer warranties may apply separately to supplied products.
Commercial warranty cover applies to the relevant repaired fault, supplied part, or agreed workmanship. It does not cover unrelated faults or damage caused by subsequent impact, liquid exposure, misuse, or unauthorised work. Third-party work affects a claim only where it caused or contributed to the claimed issue or prevents reasonable assessment.
Contact us with your booking details and a description or photo of the fault. We will assess it and explain the available remedy. Any proposed inspection or transport charge must be explained before a visit or collection is arranged and must be consistent with your legal rights.
See our Warranty Policy for claim procedures. Commercial warranty limits do not replace or shorten rights available under applicable law.
9. Cancellations, rescheduling & refunds
Contact us as early as possible to cancel or reschedule. Device repair bookings may be cancelled without charge before a technician is dispatched or courier collection is arranged, provided no separately approved costs have been incurred.
For work already started, dispatched transport, or specially ordered materials, any proposed cancellation deduction must relate to reasonable costs actually incurred, have been disclosed and agreed beforehand, and be permitted by law. We will explain the calculation. A deposit is not automatically forfeited in full.
If we cannot provide the agreed service, we will discuss an alternative or refund payments for work or goods not supplied. Any deduction for completed work or supplied goods must be justified and consistent with your legal rights.
A change of mind after correctly completed, approved work does not automatically entitle you to a refund. However, faulty parts, defective work, or failure to supply the agreed service may entitle you to a remedy, including correction, replacement, cancellation, or a refund, as applicable. These terms do not impose a blanket “no refunds” rule.
10. Responsibility for loss or damage
We will carry out services with reasonable care and skill. Existing damage and unrelated faults are not automatically part of an agreed repair, but we remain responsible where our work causes or worsens damage to the extent required by law.
Data loss can occur during device failure, repair, or software work. A backup is strongly recommended, but a customer’s inability to make one does not by itself remove responsibility for loss caused by our failure to take reasonable care.
Report suspected loss, damage, or defective work promptly and keep relevant photos, messages, and receipts. We will investigate the circumstances and discuss an appropriate resolution. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Device access & privacy
Most hardware repairs do not require your device password. If software work or testing requires access, we will explain why and obtain your permission first. We do not request your banking password or one-time passcodes.
We use booking information to arrange services, communicate with you, process payments, and support aftercare. Relevant details may be shared with the assigned technician, service provider, or courier as needed to fulfil the booking.
We will not browse, copy, or use personal device content beyond what you authorise for the agreed service, except where required by law. Permission to document a repair does not automatically permit us to publish your photos, address, or other identifying information for marketing.
12. Website tools & estimates
Website calculators, automated replies, and other tools provide general guidance. Their results may be incomplete or inaccurate and are not a confirmed diagnosis, final quotation, or guarantee. Confirm the service details and price with DoorstepFix before booking.
If you use a scam-message checker or similar tool, verify suspicious requests independently. Never submit passwords, one-time passcodes, or full banking credentials.
13. Updates & disputes
We may revise these terms for future bookings and update the date shown above. An existing booking remains governed by the terms agreed when it was confirmed unless we mutually agree to a change consistent with applicable law.
These terms are governed by Malaysian law. If you have a complaint, contact us with your booking reference and supporting information so we can try to resolve it. You retain the right to use any competent consumer tribunal, regulator, or court available under applicable law; contacting us is not a waiver of those rights.
